As the Gummi Ship landed in the familiar world, SOra's mind kept jumping back to one topic. Kairi...
They had just left her there on that tiny island with only a short message scribbled into the sandy shores. No explanations, no goodbyes, no apologies. It pained him to even think about it. How could he do that to her again? Guilt filled his entire subconscious and it slowly ate away at him. Even Riku's attempts at comfort weren't helping much.
But that was the price of wielding the keyblade. The worlds and their safety came first, above all else. And if that meant tearing him away from his home, then he could not argue. Who else would rise against the powers of darkness in order to maintain the light if not him?
With a heavy sigh Sora lurched his body from his seat and haphazardly made his way to the door. The rustle and bustle of the town quickly snapped him back to reality. But the activity was much more than out of the norm for the town. People seemed hurried and rushed, as though, something were about strike that town like a looming storm cloud. Could the threat have already reached here? Or were they evacuating and heading for safety because of rumors of news that had been passed along. There was only one way to get a definite answer. The Restoration Committee. They'd know every detail.
The young keyblade wielder quickly turned to face his friend, a look of urgency strung across his features. "We need to go see Leon and the other. They'll know what's going on.." Sora quickly took off without any hesitation, making his way through the crowded streets as townsfolk continued ti head the other direction.
Hopefully, this was only a precaution and the real threat hadn't already terrorized the unfinished world. Leon and the others had worked day and night relentlessly trying to bring their home back to it's former glory and now... all their efforts would have been for nothing. The Heartless and whatever else that posed a threat would come and tear the place to bits and pieces, uncaring about anyone or anything in their path.
He only hoped he wasn't too late.
As he rounded a few corners and made a few turns, the brunette keyblade finally stopped at a small building. The overwhelming joy of getting to see his friends again, despite the current circumstances, brought a bright smile to his lips as he excitedly peeked into the windows and knocked vigorously on the door, waiting for an answer.
A few moments passed and nothing but silence returned his call. Gloved fists pounded more on the doors surface. Still nothing. A disappointed frown sank into his face as his hand slid from the door and his back pressed itself against the wall. "They're not here.. Not Leon, Yuffie.. Not even Donald and Goofy.."
He had hoped that perhaps King Mickey would send his previous companions to yet again set off on a whole new adventure with him. But, even they weren't here..
